Health for Peace - HIV / AIDS project
HIV/AIDS awareness programmes -integrate health and peace messages while creating HIV awareness among the people. The following are the activities organized as part of the above programme:
1. HIV/AIDS awareness sessions for men, women and youth.
2. Peer educators programme
3. Condom promotion
4. Referral services
Young Men's Initiative Project
This Project aims atbuilding capacities of the Hindu and Muslim young men to deal with the communal conflicts and serve as agents of peace. The programmes facilitate their energies in a sustained positive way to make right decisions and to improve their social, economic and health conditions. The following are the activities organized for the young men
1. Reading room
2. Typing course
3. Job oriented technical trainings like computer hardware & networking, Air conditioning & refrigeration, etc.
4. Peace meetings on sensitive occasions
5. Interfaith festival celebrations
6. Picnic trips
7. Capacity building trainings on peace & conflict transformation
8. Health awareness programmes.
Partnering for Peace
This project intends to promote the concept of peace building among the NGOs in the state of Andhra Pradesh. As part of this project, organizations based in communally sensitive areas of the state are identified and trained on the concepts of peace building, conflict transformation and its related aspects. They are also supported financially to integrate and promote this concept in their respective target areas. At present, three organizations are being supported, two based and working in the old city of Hyderabad and one at Kama Reddy town of Nizamabad district
Income Generation Project
Peace through socio - economic empowerment of the Hindu and Muslim women in the old city of Hyderabad is the main focus of this project. The following activities are undertaken in this project:
1. Promotion of Self Help Groups for economic empowerment
2. Social and Peace education programmes
3. Capacity building through different skill training programmes
4. Manufacturing units of readymade garments and handicrafts
5. Organizing handicraft exhibitions
